The headline for today is crisis-management-ops. It ate most of the cycles because I had to deal with the messy aftermath of audits. I spent the morning and afternoon wrestling with race conditions and security gaps in the AI chat backend. It started with a security hardening pass that touched the AI routes and services, then moved to fixing race conditions that were making the UI feel jittery. I had to add conversation persistence and audit logging so we actually know what happened when things go sideways. That meant writing migrations and refactoring the chat hooks. By the end of the day, I did a final polish to clean up the middleware and ensure the frontend didn’t crash when the backend stuttered. It was unglamorous work, but the system is finally stable.
Meanwhile, majiks-art-studio got a serious injection of structure. I built out a prompt template system for the artwork generation engine. This wasn’t just a UI tweak; it involved creating the backend templates and a picker in the GenerateView. I also set up the release automation script and added CI quality gates. We now have ruff linting, format checks, and mypy type checking running in the pipeline. It feels good to have those safety nets in place. I also polished the ChatView and GalleryView to wrap chips properly and made the empty states look less empty.
majiks-dsp got a massive UX overhaul in v0.0.5. I wanted to make the interface feel less cramped. I added a shared sidebar, made the scroll wheel adjust Q values, and added imperial units for those who prefer them over metric. I also fixed the EQ spectrum key to use the centralized UserPreferences constant, which stopped it from drifting. The editor is now more compact and easier to navigate. It’s a small app, but the details matter when you are tweaking audio frequencies.

majiks-music-studio-pro saw a security hardening pass in v3.2.1. I cleaned out dead code and fixed a few bugs in the backend. It was a cleanup day, trimming the fat and making sure the security model was tight. I also bumped meeting-minutes to v1.0.2. That release was mostly about fixing an AVFoundation crash and raising the speaker ID threshold so the transcriber doesn’t hallucinate voices. I also did a second audit pass to polish the defaults and fix a few UX glitches in the transcript view.
Also today: I updated the meeting minutes version file on magicunicorn.tech and bumped the art studio version to 1.6.2. The rest of the day was just keeping the lights on and making sure the builds didn’t fail.
The week is shaping up. We are moving from chaotic feature dumping to structured, stable releases. The systems are getting stronger, and the interfaces are getting friendlier. It is slow progress, but it is the right kind.
