Ops-Center — monitoring.

Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Fifteen commits across four repos. A real day.

The headline was building an agent framework into pocketsteward. Eight commits in that repo alone, with the biggest single change being a 12,000-line addition of multi-protocol agent scaffolding supporting REST, MCP, and A2A. I wrote the base agent classes, the manager, the registry, the case analyzer and document processor agents, the integration guides. It's the skeleton of a system I've been turning over in my head for a while. The frontend got a type fix and a missing heroicons dependency along the way, the usual cleanup that happens when you're actually using the code instead of just designing it.

I also pushed the full application build, completed the mobile-responsive UI with the TACS Analyzer and the knowledge base RAG feature, landed the multi-tenant theming system with APWU branding, and finished the database migrations and API endpoints. That last one was fifty files, the kind of commit where you know you're stitching everything together and hoping the seams hold.

I wrote the base agent classes, the manager, the registry, the case analyzer and document processor agents, the integration guides.

Meanwhile in unicorn-amanuensis, the NPU work hit a genuine discovery. The encoder was already fast at 134x. The decoder is the bottleneck. That's the kind of finding that reroutes a whole week's worth of assumptions. I wrote up the week one final decision to go with librosa plus encoder/decoder, documented the log compression requirement I'd discovered while debugging, and got the mel kernels compiled and ready for testing. Eighty-six files changed in the biggest debug commit. There's a certain satisfaction in watching a kernel compile after you've chased it for two days.

Ops-center got a TypeError fix in the role filtering and models API endpoint. Small, boring, necessary. I bumped the ops-center submodule in uc-cloud so the critical bug fixes actually showed up where they needed to be.

Also today: updating build logs, making sure the scribe was capturing what actually happened instead of what sounded good.

The agent framework is scaffolding now, not substance yet. The decoder bottleneck means more work ahead on the NPU side. The boring bug fix in ops-center is probably what keeps the team from spinning their wheels on Friday. All of it adds up.
