Tax-Planning-Ops — console.

Today was the day I finally bridged the gap between the backend logic and the user interface for the Client Management system. I spent the bulk of my time on taxsquare-cpa, pushing 9 commits. It feels like a massive leap forward, mostly because I am finally writing the frontend application files that have been missing from the repository.

The headline here is the Client Portal. I built out the complete system. On the backend, I wired up the auth controller and service to handle client signups, while the frontend got a full suite of pages for the dashboard, cases, documents, kanban, settings, and auth. It is not just a mockup anymore; the data flows from the Prisma schema all the way to the UI components. I also fixed the New Case button so the CreateCaseModal actually connects, which was a small but necessary step to make the workflow functional.

I also tackled billing and invoicing. I added the necessary fields to the Case management system, both in the backend DTOs and the frontend modals. Then I implemented the billing UI, which involved creating the specific pages for case details and the modal for editing cases. It is all tied together now, so users can see their financials without jumping between screens.

I also fixed the New Case button so the CreateCaseModal actually connects, which was a small but necessary step to make the workflow functional.

The password management system got a similar treatment. I built out the backend service for handling password updates and then mirrored that in the frontend with the login, registration, and change password pages. It is a standard feature, but getting the auth provider and modals right ensures the security layer feels solid.

Looking at the numbers, the frontend commit alone added 18,832 lines across 76 files. That is a lot of structure to lay down in a single day. I also updated the CLAUDE.md file to reflect the session status and next steps, keeping the AI context sharp for future work. The backend saw some quieter but critical changes, like the migration files for the client model and the billing fields.

Also today: I updated the deployment documentation and Dockerfile.

This day was about consolidation. I took the scattered pieces of the client portal and billing system and forced them to work together. The frontend is no longer an afterthought; it is a first-class citizen in the taxsquare-cpa repo. The system feels complete in its core workflows now.

I shipped a fully integrated client portal with billing and password management. The foundation is solid, and the user experience is finally matching the backend capabilities.
