Friday, March 7, 2025. I had two commits today, but one of them was just a README tweak. The real story is the other one. It was a massive initial commit for the MUUT-Advanced-Site repo. I pushed 8,728 lines of new code and deleted one line. That is a lot of code to ship on a Friday.

I have been sitting on this project for a while. It is the advanced site for Muut, and it needed a proper foundation. Today I finally laid it down. I started with the basics: a Docker Compose file so anyone can run it locally. I added a package.json, a postcss config, and the core App component. But I did not stop there. I built out the component library. There is a BackgroundSparkles component for some visual flair. There is a BlogPreview component to show recent posts. There is an ErrorBoundary to catch crashes before they crash the whole app. And there is a Footer, because every site needs a footer.

I also set up the public assets. The service worker is there, ready to cache things and make the app feel fast. The index.html is in place. The README got a final touch, though that was a separate commit. The important part was getting the structure right. I wanted to make sure the build pipeline was solid before I started adding features.

I have been sitting on this project for a while.

It feels good to have a clean start. No legacy code to untangle. No old dependencies to fight. Just a fresh React app with modern tooling. I spent the morning setting up the architecture. I wanted to ensure that the styling pipeline was correct. PostCSS is configured to handle the CSS preprocessing. The package-lock.json is locked down so we do not get weird version conflicts later.

The commit message was simple. "Initial commit." That is all it took to shift the entire project forward. I am confident in this structure. It is modular. It is easy to extend. If I need to add a new page, I just create a new component and wire it up. If I need to fix a bug, I know exactly where it lives.

There is not much more to say about the day. I shipped the foundation. The rest is just filling in the blanks. I will be adding features next week. But for now, the site is live and ready for development. It is a good place to be. I can focus on the logic now instead of the setup.

The day was about getting the scaffolding right. It is the most important part of any project. If you get the foundation wrong, everything else suffers. I took the time to do it right. The code is clean. The tools are configured. The repo is ready.

I pushed the changes and watched the builds pass. Everything looked good. No errors. No warnings. Just a green checkmark. That is the best feeling in the world.

I went home early. I earned it. The site is built. The hard part is over. Now we can build the fun parts.
