It was a quiet Sunday with seven commits, but the work was dense. I spent the day tightening up the core business logic for Shawn’s services while polishing the user experience on the front end. The goal was to make the site feel less like a brochure and more like a tool that actually runs the business.
The biggest chunk of effort went into the owner’s dashboard. I built out a read-only /owner page and a token-gated summary API. This gives Shawn a single place to see his bookings and stats without needing to dig through server logs or third-party dashboards. It is still version one, so it is just data for now, but it is real data. I also wired up the review-ask lane. When a job is marked done, the system now sends exactly one paced Google review ask. This is a small automation, but it removes the friction of asking for feedback manually. It ensures the requests are timely and not spammy.
On the front end, I tackled the detailing menu and the booking flow. I mirrored Shawn’s printed tri-fold flyer exactly, including the name, menu, and prices. This consistency is critical because customers often reference the paper flyer while browsing the site. If the numbers don’t match, trust drops. I also fixed the Grok live-review issues from round one. That meant sorting out call-bar tap steals, menu consistency, and copy truth. The mobile performance pass helped here too. I optimized the hero payload, images, and caching across 61 files. The site feels snappier now, especially on mobile.
I built out a read-only `/owner` page and a token-gated summary API.
I also updated the About page with Shawn’s full portrait on a brand-red ground in a rounded 4:5 frame. It is a small visual change, but it puts a face to the service. I wrapped up the day with transcript-audit fixes, including headlight pricing adjustments and a Deluxe CONFIRM flag. These were explicit requests from Shawn to ensure the pricing guidance was accurate and the higher-tier services were clearly marked.
Also today: I updated several documentation files to reflect the verification results and troubleshooting steps. The codebase is cleaner, the business logic is tighter, and the user experience is more polished.
The day added up to a site that is easier to manage and easier to trust.
