The avatar blinking in OrchestrationDemo was driving me nuts. It was one of those visual glitches that looks minor to someone glancing at the demo for three seconds, but it made the whole thing feel brittle and unpolished every time you actually sat with it. Texture caching was the fix, and it took 1,753 lines added against 407 removed across 49 files.
The root cause was straightforward: every time the demo cycled through agent avatars, the textures got torn down and reloaded from scratch. With 49 files touching the pipeline from the database models through the workflow engine, the router, and the API routes, there were plenty of places where the old behavior could sneak back in. The seed agents file, docker compose configs, and the workflow routing docs all got updates to lock the caching in consistently.
It was a day of plumbing work disguised as a visual fix.
It was a day of plumbing work disguised as a visual fix. The avatar code touched almost every layer of the app, which is the kind of scope that makes you double check every path before calling it done. 49 files is not a small surface area, even when every change is tight and local.
That was it for the day. One commit, one repo, one problem pushed through to the other side.
