Unicorn Commander — admin dashboard.

I spent Monday untangling the deployment logic for the UC-1 Pro. The goal was straightforward but required careful surgical strikes across the infrastructure layer. I needed the UC-1 Pro to pull the Center-Deep model directly from the Unicorn-Commander repository. This wasn't just a configuration tweak; it was a structural shift in how we manage our model dependencies.

The work landed in the uc-cloud repository with a single commit that touched ten files. The net change was significant, adding 1,098 lines while removing only 3. That imbalance tells the story of what happened. I wasn't just changing a variable. I was integrating the entire Center-Deep context into the UC-1 Pro build pipeline.

I started by updating the .env.example to reflect the new source paths. Then I moved the heavy lifting into the Docker layer. I created a dedicated Center-Deep-Local.Dockerfile and updated the main Center-Deep.Dockerfile to ensure the build context was correct. The docker-compose files needed the most attention. I modified docker-compose-ops-center-standalone.yml and docker-compose.center-deep-repo.yml to point to the new repository location. The main docker-compose.yml also received updates to keep the service definitions consistent.

The work landed in the uc-cloud repository with a single commit that touched ten files.

The Makefile got a rewrite to streamline the build process. It now knows how to fetch and compile Center-Deep from the correct upstream source. This automation is crucial. It removes the manual step that used to cause errors during development.

On the application side, the config/ops-center/uc1-pro.yaml file was adjusted to recognize the new model structure. But the real magic happened in the backend. I updated services/ops-center/backend/hardware_detector_enhanced.py. This script now understands the hardware requirements of the Center-Deep model. It detects the necessary GPUs and prepares the environment before the model even loads.

This change simplifies the dependency chain. Previously, the UC-1 Pro had to manage its own copy of Center-Deep. That created version drift and deployment headaches. Now, it pulls the authoritative version from Unicorn-Commander. This ensures consistency across all environments. If Center-Deep gets a security patch, UC-1 Pro gets it automatically on the next build.

The commit message was simple: "Update UC-1 Pro to pull Center-Deep from Unicorn-Commander repository". But the implications are broad. It reduces the maintenance burden on the UC-1 Pro team. It centralizes model management. It makes the system more robust.

I verified the changes by checking the file diffs. The ten files touched covered every layer of the stack. From the environment variables to the hardware detection logic, everything was aligned. The 1,098 lines added were mostly configuration and dependency declarations. They define how the new architecture works. The 3 lines removed were obsolete references that were no longer needed.

This was a clean day. No debugging marathons. No dependency hell. Just a clear objective and a systematic execution. The integration is complete. The UC-1 Pro is now a better citizen in the Unicorn-Commander ecosystem.

Also today: I reviewed the commit history to ensure no accidental deletions slipped through. The git log looked clean.

The day added up to a stronger, more maintainable infrastructure.
