Monday, December 30, 2024. One commit. One repo. Sixty three files and about twenty four thousand lines of code pushed in a shot that looks like a lot until you remember it's the first shot.
It's the magicunicorn.tech repo, and it's an initial commit. Everything came in at once, which is both generous and a little comical for a first entry in the record. The project is a Vite/React app, which is the obvious stack for this kind of thing: components for lazy loading images and error boundaries, a service worker, a web manifest, Sparkles as background decoration, a footer, the usual skeleton of a site. Two and a half thousand lines removed, probably from something I was replacing or discarding, so even the first commit wasn't a clean whiteboard.
There is no arc to the story, because there was only one move. You lay down the first stone and hope it holds.

Also today: nothing else happened. One repo, one commit, 100 words. I'm making them.
It counts though. Every build starts with a first commit. The record starts now.
